“Dorothy, we had an average increase of 5.2 grade levels in comprehension!! Our biggest increase was 7.5….I was amazed by these results. I really thought we would have less improvement because of the shortened time frame. I believe Brain Gym® has to be the major contributing factor for such huge gains.”
Wanda Rogers, Ph.D.
[Wanda Rogers, Ph.D. and I co-taught a college summer remedial reading course. I had the students do Brain Gym® every class period. I also had the students do a Brain Gym® “Balance” specifically targeting comprehension. The following is an email I received from Dr. Rogers when the all the scores were in.]
“Dorothy, the students I get from your classroom that are doing Brain Gym are noticeably calmer, more focused and make bigger gains than all the other students from the other classrooms in the school! I can not in good conscious continue teaching without doing Brain Gym with my students, so I am going to learn it!”
Ann, Special Education Teacher
“Brain Gym has been a wonderful experience. It has helped my reaction time, hand-eye coordination and my peripheral vision.”
Barry, College Student
“Brain Gym for me is really helping me not to be so lazy. It gives me energy…and energy is everything. It helps to calm me down and stay focused on every task I am trying to complete. I think if I would have had Brain Gym in school a long time ago I would have been a lot smarter than I am today.”
Louise, College Student
A father of a student I had had two years prior stopped me in the hall one spring day and told me his daughter was failing math. He asked if there was anything I could do to help her. He thought he’d ask because she really liked me. I offered to do Brain Gym® with her after school one day a week until school ended in seven weeks. He eagerly agreed. Kimberly came for 30 minutes every week and her life changed! She not only went up in math but so did her self-esteem.
“Since Kimberly has been doing Brain Gym with you, Dorothy, she has gone from being at the bottom of my class in math to being one of my very top students! The change is incredible! Thank you so much for helping her.”
Gary, Fourth Grade Teacher
“I like Brain Gym because it helps my brain and I have noticed that I am smarter at math. My favorite is Hook-Ups because it calms me down. I wish every body in the world did Brain Gym, so it could help them too.”
Nicole, Second Grade Student
“I learned a lot from Brain Gym. I think that every year we should do it. It is really fun and exciting. My family really loves it too. I have learned that I get better grades and have better behavior all the time because of
Brain Gym.”
Kelsey, Second Grade Student
“We are amazed our son’s communication skills have improved so much since working with you Dorothy. This is the first time in his life that we have been able to have quality conversations with him. We are thrilled!”
John, Father of nine year old autistic child
“I liked the Brain Gym activities because as I got used to the different activities my focus in class improved. Brain Gym taught me that no matter how difficult a task can be if you work on it the easier it will come to you. I would recommend Brain Gym to everybody and I hope to find new Brain Gym activities and continue to work on them.”
Marshall, College Student
“Brain Gym has helped me be a better reader and writer this semester. It has helped me focus on tests in class and other assignments. I will always keep Brain Gym in mind for my children in the future.”
Teresa, College Student
“Brain Gym is really good when you are so frustrated. The Brain Gym helped me to calm myself and to be more focused on everything. Before I do my homework I always started doing it. This is my first time doing the Brain Gym and I really enjoyed it.”
Nancy, College Student
Dear Dorothy,
Thank you for your services performed on my daughter, Nicole. I have noticed tremendous changes since you began doing Brain Gym® and NeuroKinesiology on her. Her ability for abstract thinking has been the most profound change. For someone who was diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorder as a child, and at 18 years of age diagnosed with Border Line Personality Disorder, one of her biggest challenges has been abstract thinking, or high-level thinking.
Abstract thinking is supposed to develop between the ages of 8-12. Concrete learning is typically developed fully by then. The absence of abstract thinking is pervasive in Autism, ADD, ADHD, Schizophrenia and other learning disabilities.
Mature abstract thinking is apparent when one is able to see the consequences of their actions, or the cause and effect of their actions. Other examples of abstract thinking are: appropriate, mature social skills; improved reading comprehension and other reading skills; increased enjoyment of reading; and taking full responsibility for one’s actions.
Nicole’s abstract thinking ability has improved dramatically as a result of your work, Dorothy. She is now able to analyze her behavior, figure out why she was acting out, take responsibility for her problem behavior and is no longer blaming others. In addition to this remarkable change, she is able to recognize the negative affect her behavior has on others, especially the family. Of all the changes I have seen occur in Nicole I am most impressed with the profound improvement of the left and right brain connections which have greatly improved her abstract thinking abilities.
Another indication of her improved thinking skills is her recent decision to cut back on her medications, which were causing her to sleep excessively and to detach from interacting with her world.
Finally, your work with infant reflexes has made left and right brain connections to occur in Nicole and she has now moved into reading better, wanting to read and enjoying reading.
We are very pleased and grateful for your work with Brain Gym® and NeuroKinesiology, Dorothy. We are now seeing our daughter truly happy and becoming the person we always knew was there.
Sincerely,
Dr. John Carlston, DC
“After weeks of panic attacks, I felt better yesterday after my appointment with you, Dorothy, than I had in a long time. I was even able to work on my dissertation, which I hadn’t been able to do for weeks. Brain Gym and NeuroKinesiology are wonderful! May I have another appointment before I leave town in two days?”
