My Philosophy

In today’s educational system it is imperative for teachers to think out of the box, follow their intuition and dare to be unique. Our children’s futures depend on it.

Our schools should embrace “brain-based learning” techniques. These techniques transform classrooms into environments that feel safe and familiar. The objective is to create an environment where the brains’ fear/rage response is not triggered. We can only begin to learn and take in new information when we feel safe.

Unfortunately schools do not encourage movement but instead demand large amounts of sedentary formal instructional time. This is creating children who have difficulties with abstract learning, higher thinking skills and creative thinking. Movement is essential to learning. It awakens and activates many of our mental capacities. Lack of intellectual and movement development integration is a huge problem for our children in today’s world. We are stifling a child’s natural learning process by not allowing them to move. In order to learn we must keep moving!

As a result of my passion, research and decades of experience, I have an entire program of brain-based techniques. As teachers we must implement new, innovative ways to produce highly productive, energetic, creative, curious, high-level thinking children in the face of a system that is formal, rigid and filled with tests. The very future of our culture depends on it.
